Many people have expressed concern, frustration, and maybe even a little fear in the rules changes for the upcoming season. I have done my best to answer questions that have come to me, and will continue to keep you in the loop of upcoming Norcal informational meetings that are planned to further clarify the new rules. Now a brief overview of SCVHA's plans for the 2010-2011 season:

Once the SCVA Coaching staff for the 2010-2011 season is finalized, we will begin the plans for next year. This will include discussions with all head coaches about the potentiality of their team getting relegated to playing Norcal AA, A, B, or even BB, and ensuring that all coaches get certified to coach at the level they may be designated. It is important that we are prepared for any eventuality.

The Santa Clara Blackhawks will ice multiple teams at all levels for the 2010/2011 season.

All players are encouraged to come out to tryouts—test your skills against the best of the best in NorCal, meet the outstanding Blackhawks coaches and learn more about our travel hockey programs.

Travel Teams: Mite, Squirt, Pee Wee, Bantam, Midget 16 and Midget 18

Tier (AA) Teams: Midget 16

The Santa Clara Blackhawks travel hockey program is an 8 month program created with the perfect balance between player development and competitive team play. Players will benefit from on and off ice training that focuses on developing a complete player—overall physical fitness, hockey fundamentals, and team strategies. In the competitive play arena, the team will participate in the local NorCal league as well as travel to tournaments that will push the players and team to play at the top of their games.

Tryouts for the Santa Clara Travel Hockey Program will take place August 6-10, 2010 with results announced at the end of the last tryout. Midget 16 Tier tryouts will be July 23-25, 2010.
